he first 15 mins Phantoms started off brightly once again, playing with intent that led to a couple of half chances that were intercepted by the keeper and a chance at a corner that went over the bar. Three touches is all it took for sharks to score, a clever pass hitting a blind spot. At this point the Phantoms response was not great, they panicked, kicking aimlessly and lost most of the 50:50 challenges. Such an approach was never going to end well and we conceded a second, although this was a top drawer goal - 3 one touch passes led to them scoring from close range. Half time 2-0. Plan was to pin them in as we played down the slope. That is exactly what we did but without any cutting edge. Three nil near the end which was unlucky although it was good play and the oppo flooded the penalty area. Phantoms should have scored near the end but not to be.

Summary of game:
Outmuscled by a good and robust Sharks with too many of our players coming off second best. Hart have been in prem for a while and you could tell in the collective mental attitude. Phantoms were fragile as soon as they conceded the first goal.
Sloppy passes but also a lack of work off the ball to support passer.
The work in training on the forward runs was a positive as are the corners both defensively and attacking.
The new beanie hats look good and are ideal with this cold weather. (every player should have received one) :-)

It's the second time this season we've had a ref that has allowed the rules to be er flexed. There is moaning and chat which just has a negative impact on the boys game. Reality is that the boys need to adapt to the ref interpretation, which will be tricky, although I know a couple of them do that already.
