Match Report - NUNNERY WOOD FC U14 MJPL - 14 Sep 2024

A bit of a road trip to Worcester this weekend but it was well worth it. First half we dominated the play for the first 20 minutes creating a number of chances to kill the game but were unable to get that bit of luck that would see the ball go over the line. Last part of the first half Nunnery Woods came back into the game and were starting to be more physical. Our first goal came from a corner by George Thornett and Aiden getting on the end of it to head it in. Finally we had the break through.

At 1 – 0 at half time the game was far from over and the lads had to start again to try and increase our goal tally. We locked Nunnery Woods out completely in the second half and dominated the play with Brooklyn creating himself a number of chances from his own hard work and effort – the goals will come from our number 9 if he plays like that. Jared won a penalty and stepped up to take it and made the score 2 – 0 and finally we looked as if we were going to bring the points home.

Great achievement for the lads to keep a clean sheet this week – they are all working so hard for one another.

Man of the match this week goes to Lewis Courts who worked tirelessly on the right hand side, closing down their left back from being able to play out and dominated the physical side battle. His performance built on the great game he had against Redditch last week. Well done Lewis.
