Home league match

A Horton Hat Trick in a 7-0 thriller for Norton Canes, who hosted North Solihull yesterday afternoon in their second home fixture of the season.

From start to finish, The Canes looked dominant and controlled the game with ease. They looked strong in possession, their organisation and shape was first class and 110% work rate for every player in a blue shirt.

Credit to North Solihull, who tried to continue playing despite the score line. It wasn’t reflective of how poorly they played, it was simply that Norton looked a different level above the rest.

Several players on the score sheet and a solid clean sheet. True team performance! Horton was first to score with a header from a John Littler corner. Ashford was next to convert with a well placed finish in the box. Lee Warren got Norton’s third with a ball from Luke Edwards to assist Norton’s number 9. Just before the half time break, Horton got his brace, making contact with the ball from a scramble in the box.

The second half, Norton continued where they left off. Each time The Canes attacked, they looked a threat in front of goal. Matty Allport got the 5th, with a long range strike outside the box. Connor Horton then competed his hat trick with another header from a Littler corner. The afternoon was finished off with a second for Lee Warren. This time an assist from Ryan Hartshorne in goal.

Man of the match was awarded to Connor Horton for a true skipper performance. Leading by example and scoring a hat trick ????????
