Northwood Youth U14 White 1–4 Belmont Bees U14 Red

Northwood Youth U14 White were tested by a strong Belmont Bees side, eventually falling to a 4–1 defeat in a competitive and eventful encounter.

The match started brightly, but Belmont struck early with goals in the 2nd and 8th minute, capitalising on quick transitions and putting Northwood under immediate pressure. Despite the early setback, the Whites showed resilience, with Alex producing several important saves to keep the scoreline respectable. Defensively, Amin, George, and Gregers worked hard to stem the tide, while Jamie looked to drive the team forward with some well-weighted long passes.

Northwood began to grow into the game as the half progressed, creating chances through Jamie, Zain, and later Riley, but Belmont went into the break with a deserved 2–0 lead.

The second half saw a strong response from Northwood. Pressure finally paid off in the 37th minute when Gregers finished confidently, assisted by Zain, to pull one back and give the Whites real momentum. The team pushed on, showing belief and intensity, and were handed a huge opportunity to level the score shortly after — unfortunately the penalty drifted wide.

That missed chance proved pivotal. Belmont regained control and added a third goal in the 48th minute before a fourth late on, punishing small lapses as Northwood continued to commit players forward in search of goals.

Despite the final scoreline, there were plenty of positives. Alex put in a brave performance in goal, Amin was consistent defensively throughout, and the midfield showed fight and creativity, particularly in the second half. Importantly, the team never stopped competing and continued to create chances right until the final whistle.

A tough result against a quality side, but a valuable learning experience as the squad continues to develop together.
