Home friendly match

North Elmham saw the return visit of FC Viking reserves at The Pavilion. Both teams started strong in poor weather conditions, with strong wind and rain.

Elmham started the game off where they left it last week. Attacking midfielder Jamie Clark hit a powerful effort inside the box, which the Viking goalkeeper saved, only to fall at the feet of striker Chris Reeve who slotted home.

Elmham had the confidence boost then. Which allowed them to press further up the field. Some confident play from the back, allowed midfielder Luke Pickford to turn and run into space, playing a through ball into the path of attacking midfielder Ellis Johnson, who continued his run beating defenders, slotting the ball into the bottom right corner.

FC Viking then stepped up the pace and chased a quick turn around. A mix up at the back, saw the right winger take control of the ball, dashing into the area, hitting the ball across goal into the top left hand corner, after a great attempt from Jamie Walker to save.

After the second half team talk, Elmham new they had to continue where they started and tighten up. Some confident possession play and ball work saw the team creating more opportunities. After winning the ball in the middle Luke Pickford directed his run down the left channel, crossing the ball into the box, finding attacking midfielder Lewis Johnson, who cushioned his pass back across goal to striker Chris Reeve, who slotted home, scoring his second of the game.

Elmham continued to press and continued to show signs of impressive football. Once again some build up possession play from the back from centre backs Joe Hodge and Ben Pierce reached the midfield. Luke Pickford then directed his run towards the oppositions penalty area, playing the ball into the path of Chris Reeve, who continued his run placing the ball into the right corner , to claim his second hat-trick in two weeks.

Elmham could of made it five. A great ball into the box by Lewis Johnson fell to the path of defender Joe Hodge who couldn't beat the keeper, after a fine save.

Another superb victory for North Elmham. Making it four wins in a row.
