An extremely disappointing loss of two points against a physical, committed team which sat in and invited us to break them down. With a huge amount of possession we failed to do this and it took a very late goal from JOHNNY GREENWOOD to salvage a point.
Poor defending early on allowed the bottom of the league side to open the scoring and then after OUSMANE CISSÉ held off challenges to finish expertly more poor defending saw Burnhill turn round at the interval 2-1 ahead.
Despite dominating the second period and at times displaying some decent passing and link up play, the real telling pass which could break down their low block was lacking and, in spite of having corner after corner - and getting onto the end of none of them - defeat was looking likely until Greenwood bundled the equaliser home from Ghazi’s cross.
Great contribution from Ryan Devine - playing his second ninety minutes of the afternoon, but nothing else to report positively.
A thought - how difficult are we making games for ourselves? After our first game, FIVE of the starting lineup didn’t appear for the second game; after game 2, FIVE of the starting line up failed to play in game 3; after the third game, FIVE of the starting line up didn’t play yesterday. We have now played 4 matches and used 27 players. Draw your own conclusions.
