Not going to discuss individual performance in this report. Think we'll just mention a few important points. Firstly I think like most games we started quite strongly. Passing well and controlling the ball. But as we have experienced in many games this season, the opposition go ahead and the heads drop. Belief and concentration visibly drains from the team. We went from controlling the middle of the park to them finding pockets of space and creating opportunities. My view is concentration drops and we tend to lose our shape and this ends in confusion as to what our roles are. We lost a significant amount of 50/50's. The goals we conceded were gifts. In a match It doesn't matter how they happened (that's what training is for - to analyse what went wrong and how to work on preventing it happening again) its the reaction that matters, which we have struggled with all season.
Anytime we put short quick passes together we've looked a threat. Keep things simple, let the ball do the work. We have a skillful bunch of players without a doubt. But it sometimes looks like a group of individuals rather than a team. In saying that the defense did very little wrong all game - communicated well and kept opportunities to a minimum.
Special mention to Matty and Aido for turning up even though they were not 100% fit. Thanks ??
