Home league match

Another hard fought win for Naas tonight against Bush Celtic. Manager Conor Holmes made three changes to the starting line up after a good 3 nil win against Kildare Town on Sunday.

The game had a scrappy start with Bush looking the better team. They got their reward after 15 minutes when a miss-timed header by a Naas Defender allowed the Bush striker to finish low and hard to put Bush a goal up. Naas then slowly began to get a grip on the game. Ben Holmes and Matty Drewitt began making things happen in the middle of the pitch, however a tendency to try and play the ball over the top was hindering any smart play by Naas. Three changes were made around the half hour mark, with Kevin Kelly, Niall Kelly and new signing Jamie D'Arcy introduced. The Second half started much brighter for Naas with Aaron Moriarty scoring shortly after half time after an assist from Hugh O'Sullivan. A tidy finish from "Aero" levelling proceedings.

The game then became quite scrappy again, with Naas lacking the height to compete with the physical opposition in the middle of the pitch, however they began to play some tidy football on the deck, with Ben Holmes and Jamie D'Arcy leading the charge. Aido Comeford and Hugh O'Sullivan also began to link up well on the left side of the pitch which allowed Kevin Kelly and Aero Moriarty to get in behind the bush defence a number of times.

Aero Moriarty eventually got the winner ten minutes from time, another assist again from Hugh O'Sullivan after some good build up play. It was an emphatic finish which got the crowd excited.

Naas managed to hold on for the final fifteen minutes under some intense pressure from the Bush Celtic team as they threw men forward to find an equaliser.

The final whistle allowed the naas team and crowd to breathe a sigh of relief after that hard fought victory which puts them Top of the league for the first time this season!

Man of the match for Naas was Captain Ben Holmes who put in tireless display in the middle of the Park.
