Always a nostalgic fixture for the coach having played for the opposition when he was a child but that goes out the window when there is points at stake.
We arrived with only 13 players for the kickoff but got straight into the game and took control early on with our pace causing them problems. Jack W was getting im behind at almost every opportunity. We didn't get off many shots but Uday managed one which went straight at the keeper. We kept pressing and got a corner, George used some quick thinking to work a front post corner to Hayden which came back out to George who advanced into their box, he had a quick look and played a great ball across the 6 yrd box were Oscar headed home straight into the net. 1-0.
Not long after a GK was taken and the midfield had left too much space which Halewood jumped on and and with a quick pass got in behind us and an old Woolton player in isac sweetly finished past Toby. 1-1.
Wooltons heads eemed to drop and the coach was happy to get the team back in at HT 1-1
Second half started with Woolton back on the gas and we used the pitch to our advantage getting in behind their high line but both teams struggled to make any clear chances.
After a poor clearance Oscar managed to win a scrappy ball and get a head on it to play it over to Jack W and with an instant he smashed the ball sweetly over the Goalie who had no chance. 2-1
Shortly after with the game getting scrappy Woolton managed to get the ball into the box and Drew bundled the ball towards goal which everyone bar the ref seen cross the line and the goal was not given. Not long after Halewood got forward and the ball came across from the free kick, Toby got over and got a hand down on the ball, the Halewood striker kicked the ball out of his hand and turned the ball into the net. To the Woolton teams amazement the goal was given 2-2. Both teams pushed for a winner and Uday had our best chance which was from 20+ urds out but bent towards the keeper which allowed him to make the save.

Great display from the back 5 who limited Halewood to half chances and set pieces, but must say a great team display overall. Great things to come from this bunch
