Match Report - WEST END - 25 Sep 2016

With a full squad at my disposal and home advantage I had a good feeling about this game until we went 1 down after only 5 minutes. Sloppy defending again. Micky Barrow made it 1-1 after racing clear and rounding the keeper only to be brought down. The keeper should have been sent off but somehow the ref didn't see it that way. Micky slotted home from the spot. The Crown then made it 2-1 after some great pass and move football. Micky again made it 2-2 with another solo goal only for The Crown to make it 3-2 before half time. The second half was all about Lanch. I went three up top and we dominated the game. Probably the best performance I've seen from us in years. Micky Barrow again got beyond the back 4 and after rounding the keeper squared for Lanch to tap home. We then took the lead after Chris hit the cross bar and Lanch headed in the rebound. Lanch then scored a header from a corner and again with a stunning strike from just outside the box. We where well and truly in control now. We were dominating and The Crown didn't like it. Micky raced through only to be blatantly taken out two footed by their left back. This time the ref did give a red. Unfortunately Micky went off injured so Lanch slotted home the resulting penalty. Lanch then rounded off an outstanding individual and team performance with a volley from the edge of the box. 7-3 to us and our first ever victory over The Crown. After the final whistle they refused to shake hands with us and the ref. One of them then decided to wind Lanch up with slanderous comments. All I can say is that he wont do it again. Shame as it spoilt a great victory and performance. Looking forward to playing them in the league next time round.
