Another win for Middleton today, hard thought victory. A great finish from Ethan lobbing the keeper after only a couple of minutes with his weak foot put Middleton in early control. What became obvious from then on was Tintwistle we’re happy to try and bully Middleton as they didn’t have the ability or attitude to beat them any other way. Middleton rose to the challenge, and didn’t shirk tackles, backed each other up, when required, tintwistle had no answer.
Ethan added a second with a contender for goal of the season, with Middleton playing out from the back, Jon feeding a lovely ball into Rhys, who whipped in a majestic cross on a sixpence for Ethan to head it in to the empty goal. Tintwistle we’re very lucky not to have at least one man sent off before the interval. Eventually the second half got under way, and a bit of credit to Tintwistle as they had a better attitude and approach to the game, but still not good enough to break the Middleton back line, who were absolutely solid… not sure if Tintwistle would have scored if they -payed until midnight.
Rio put the result to bed with a Mesmerising run tiring the defence in knots and turning them inside out.. twice, before calmly slotting home. Great result momentum strong, attitude even stronger. What a great set of lads Middleton have. Rio takes mom
