Away league match
It was a disappointing stalemate yesterday as Mhawu United walked away very dissatisfied to only earn a single point from what seemed to be a dominant performance against Amalanda FC at LaKhumalo Sports ground
The opening ten minutes seemed intense as both teams looked to grab the clash with pure intent . Mhawu United had Sandziso “Skele” Dlamini in goal Bonkhe “Stjecu” Dlamini started at right back, Lindokuhle “Pansu” Dlamini at left back then a Centre back pairing of Manga Dlamini and Sandza Shabangu. Siphelele “ Makreya” Simelane was the anchorman in Midfield supported by Philani “Phakis” Sikhondze. Mthobisi “Vara” Dlamini started on the right wing with Sibotho Sithole on the left Flank. Likhwa Msibi was deployed as the number “10” with Nkosephayo Mamba as the lone striker.
The first half had Mhawu United display a dominant performance with Likhwa Msibi fouled inside the box yet the referees saw nothing wrong with the incident. Sibotho had a moment of individual brilliance spoiled as he took the Amalanda Right back to the cleaners before a tame placed shot was comfortably grabbed by the Amalanda Goalkeeper. Other chances that came were half heated.
The Mhawu United Coach appeared to switch tactics at halftime with “Pansu” now at right back Likhwa at left back with with the same centre back pairing. “Makreya” appeared as the single pivot centre man with a pair of “Vara” and “Phakis” as the attacking midfield duo in front of him. “Stjecu” was pushed to the right wing Sbotho was kept his left side. While “ Phayo” was the central striker.
The tactical switch game Mhawu United a renewed source of oxygen in their lungs. The second half showed an ultra dominant display spoiled by missed chances. Mhawu United thought they had found the much needed goal after Bonkhe Dlamini Scored a well placed shot only for the far side linesman to lift his flag for off side to Mhawu United’s despair. Amalanda had very little to show the entire second half and their fans seemed to appreciate the point with the final whistle blowing leaving Mhawu United clearly dissatisfied with the results.
Siphelele “Makreya” Simelane was the clear Man of the match for his superb display in the middle of the park.
