Merley FC welcomed Dorchester United to Merley FC Mens on 4 October 2025 for a league encounter kicking off at 3:00pm. The home side emerged victorious with a 2-0 scoreline after a competitive 90 minutes plus added time, securing all three points in this 11-a-side clash.
Merley FC lined up in a 4-3-1-2 formation, deploying a balanced approach designed to control midfield and provide attacking options through the flanks and central areas. Caelan Spooner guarded the goal, supported by a back four consisting of Ryan Trevett at right back, Ryan Vaughan and Sam Payne as central defenders, and Brandon Hay on the left. As the second half unfolded, Merley FC started to play more possession football which resulted in Dorchester United not getting much of the ball and when they did the press from the Merley midfield and forwards caused errors. The second half produced 3 yellow cards for the home side before Lewis Rose grabbed a second goal towards seal the win.
