The girls finally took to the field after a 7 week break due to Christmas and postponed games to play this game at the sixth attempt!
A bright start was soon broken by an early goal for Bridport after we gave the ball away and the Bridport striker had too much time and space to smash a shot past Daisy.
The girls settled into the game and started to adjust after such a long break from playing. Emmy, Abi and Maisie started to take control of the midfield, with chances being created for Merryn and Zoe B, who both had efforts saved by the Bridport keeper.
At the other end, Daisy was taking control of the dangerous attacks from Bridport by commanding her box.

The second half started brightly for us, with Bridport looking like they were tiring. Merryn got our equaliser on 56 minutes. A good corner from Abi was flicked on by Maisie and Merryn smashed home an unstoppable shot to make it 1-1.
Chances were being created at both ends. Bridport we’re dangerous with their corners and somehow we survived.
The game ended 1-1 which meant another 20 minutes if extra time. No goals were scored in extra time so it was penalty shootout time!
Lucie scored for us, then Ella missed, in between Bridport scoring their penalties, Abi scored for us and Daisy saved a Bridport penalty. Charlie missed and the shootout ended 4-2 to Bridport.
