<p>Lions away to Senior Section cup holders Stumble Inn. Lions started brightly with fast attacking football. Stumble went long to trouble Lions defence. Lions opened the scoring, a great run and cross from MOM Shea and Abbey bulleted a far post header. Stumble equalised when a shot came off Mike's gloves and looped in. Stumble went in front and the defence and keeper looked shakey. Brad dropped back to make 3 centre backs to stop the match slipping away. Though the formation change left Lions with less attacking outlets Abbey Shea Elz and Ram worked their nuts off to stretch the Stumble defence. Shea was fouled outide the box, one of several bad fouls, Dan dived in to stand up for his boys got punched in the jaw but didn't even wobble. Yellow card shown but not the red that should have been dished out to Stumble. Revenge came, Elz free kick shot was blocked with an arm and the ref bravely pointed to the spot. Ram, ice cool perfect pen 2-2. Stumble took the lead again when the ball deflected to a striker 3-2. Lions dug in and kept it tight to the half time whistle. Second half switch to 4-3-3. In an open game chances came at both ends but Lions were making the best chances. Macca on for Dan, shape stayed the same. Abbey banged in the loose ball when Ram's shot was parried. Bill on for Ricki, fresh legs in midfield, incredible save by keeper from Bill's first strike. With 20 to go Lions took the lead as Abs completed his hat-trick with a second header. Mike made saves defenders blocked tackled and headed clear. midfield scrapped hard and the forwards ran the lir leg off. Stumble came soooo close to an undeserved equaliser as a cross shot came out off the inside of the post. Ram was rewarded with 2 mins left chasing a long ball caused his marker to slip and he unselfishly crossed for Elz to bomb in and make it to 5.3 Lions. Heroes all, we await our semi final opposition. likely to be senior sides all the way. Great win by a great side.
