Match Report - ASHBY IVANHOE - 18 Aug 2018

Although 'just a friendly' to get us warmed up for the new season, it was a great team performance today. We didn't swap positions around too much today as the format was working well. The whole team were good in all areas today, and a much better game than we had anticipated. Bearing in mind we had one sub for the first half only, the boys showed great stamina too. The game was close until the middle of the second half, but we were visibly better as a team and had many more chances that could have more than doubled our score too. We focused on man marking their strongest player out of the game and Dylan and Brandon did that very well - just frustrated him. Defence was strong with Tommy and Ryan also putting in sterling performances. Without going through every single player, they all achieved their team, zone and personal targets set before the game. A very entertaining morning. I particularly liked their version of the 'love train' from the corners - thanks to Jim Sturdy for that inspiration (and running the line for us)! It was great to see such a great crowd of supporters on the side lines too. Thanks very much for all the positive encouragement we could hear ??????. #yellowetillidie
