The Shamrocks found their lucky four leaf clover as they scored five second half goals to came back from 2-0 down at the break and run away from the Casuals in a five goals to three thriller.

A well taken Mickey Fold goal early on was followed by a header from Cam Dale and this set the Casuals up nicely for potential victory. Although a Shamrocks goal just after the break threatened to spoil the Casuals day Geordie Steedman scored at the near post directly from a corner to restore the two goal buffer.

But that was a good as it got for the orange side as the Shamrocks regrouped under the leadership of Ken Graham, changed format to an extra striker and swamped the Casuals defence. Four goals in the last half hour including a late Peter Ellicott penalty made the scoreline seem rather unfair as at 3-4 the Casuals mounted wave upon wave of attack looking for the equaliser.

Antz Manning got his customary brace against his clubmates and Ken Graham and an unlucky own goal rounded off the scoring. Now the Casuals take on City Thirsties to try and take something out of the season which promised so much and has failed to deliver.

If the Casuals season was judged on games that finished on 60 minutes the table would look rather different. That indeed no one can deny.
