Home league match
Magical Vegas succumbed to relentless pressure from White City in their top of the Premiership clash last week.
With both teams coming into the game off the back of good starts to the league, this was supposed to be an even affair. What transpired was a gulf in class after a performance well below Vegas' potential. Goals conceded in the first half were too easily constructed by White City with two of the three coming from crosses from players not picked up from throw ins in their defensive third.
Despite a well worked opening goal - where Perry Price squared for Ricardo Beckford to tap in, Vegas showed low levels of confidence on the ball and a lack of invention in the final third. AT half-time manager Patrick Moore Jones made a sub that back-fired 5 minutes into the second half. He replaced centre back Luke Caesar with right back Harry Pedersen only for the replacement centre back - Tre Thompson to limp off with a hamstring strain minutes later. This left Vegas very unbalanced and open to attacks on the exposed flanks.
White City simply over ran them and when a cross looped over everyone and nestled in the far top corner - a complete fluke - the game was 2-4 and heads dropped. Only after White City had scored another 2 more did Vegas find some determination to play the football they are capable of and snatch a consolation with seconds to go through the Price and Beckford connection.
They will hope they can up their game in next weeks must win game against SYFC if they hope to improve their position in the league thats looking increasingly competitive.
