Home league match

Vegas put in a much imporved performace to seal their third 1-0 win of the season against a stubborn Todo Ciudad team.

Setting up with a rarely used 4-4-2 formation Vegas started the game in a patient and incisive mood, they opened up gaps and spaces in the Todo Ciudad defensive third frequently. However, their good play did not result in a deserved breakthrough as their final ball or shot was not up to the standard of the build up. The front 2 and wide men regularly switched positions as they attempted to create confusion in a team that had set up with 2 solid banks of 4 in order to stifle the attacking talents of the Vegas boys. To an extent their plan worked as they came in at half time at 0-0 with calls of "fabulous half lads" despit barely making it out of their own half! They had begun to frustrate the Vegas boys and towards the end of the first half frustration had grown and dissent began to be heard amoung the collective side.

At half time the Vegas boys regrouped and reminded one another they had played a good half of football and had to be patient in these circumstances. They came out re-focused and despite chances still found it difficult to break down a diciplined opponent. With 30mins ago captain Patrick Moore Jones and Kaleb King where both injured in quick succession which brought on Luke Morgan and Steven Bruce (not for the first time this season - Dover Castle). The disruption seemed to cause a lack in focus as Todo made a rare foray forward and almost took the league when returning goalkeeper Matthew Summers was beaten to the ball by the striker who narrowly missed from a very tight angle.

Nevertheless, the two sustitues began to grow in influence as the game wore on and when Luke Morgan went on another dangerous run near the box and was brought down Steven Bruce stepped up and buried his 2nd free-kick of the season from 25 yards out. The curling effort brushing the inside of the post as he gave the goalkeeper no chance to save. As the game closed out vegas knew they had made an important step towards securing their first Division 1 title.
