Home league match

A game that Magical Vegas FC turned up expecting to win turned into a blood and thunder battle they came out on the losing side of in a feisty Premier League game in terrible conditions.

Conceding a goal from kick-off set the tone for a game that consisted of costly errors, poor concentration in attacking phases and tempers getting flared in the face of defeat.

After Vegas took kick off they lost possession and Myddleton played a channel ball the was smartly flicked in field, that was laid off first time into the path of their striker who struck a sweet - but central shoot - from 20 yards. Stand-in goalkeeper Patrick Moore Jones was on his heels and didn't move as the ball flew past him 0-1.

Vegas responded, immediately they set about pushing Myddleton back and controlled the tempo of the play. When Callum Hosier struck a corner into the 6 yard box Kaddem Gutzmore wanted it more and won it ahead of their keeper to make it 1-1 on 13 minutes.

The tide continued in the direction of Myddleton Arms' area but staying onside was proving to be a difficult rule to abide by - it proved to be the case throughout the match.

However, when smart work centrally by Erol Resat released Hosier down the right he cut in on his left and his deflected shot beat the keeper to give Vegas a deserved lead at halt time 2-1.

With the game in their control, their lack of concentration throughout the team culminated in a second goal for Myddleton - again straight from kick off. The ball moved left-to-right and when a ball was swung in from that side it found their striker in the box able to bring the ball down and fire low from a tight angle in through the legs of Moore Jones.

Now the game became broken as disjointed. The conditions and atmosphere turned into a battle of wills rather than feet, Myddelton were more adept to that style of match and were coming out on top.

Deondre Dewar replaced Aaron Pedro to give Vegas more attacking impetus but Tre Thompson was injured moments later and left the midfield lacking the solidity it needed when defending.

However, the otherwise quiet Perry Price found space down the right and when his cut back was pawed out by the goalie Gutzmore was on hand to tap home...to the fury of the Vegas boys it was called offside which is barely believable considering how close Price was to the byline.

The lack of protection reared its head 15 minutes from time when a looping shot from the edge fo the box was reached by Moore Jones but not kept out to give Myddleton a 3-2 victory.

Concentration, teamwork and attitude were the biggest problems with this performance - plus an actual goalie. Vegas must now re-think whether they are capable of winning a league but rather focus solely on the next game against bottom side Crown & Manor who will be desperate to put them under pressure.

WHAT MAKES VEGAS STRONG IS THE TEAM OF PLAYERS. NOT THE PLAYERS IN THE TEAM.
