A tough encounter with a team scrapping against relegation pushed new champions Magical Vegas right to the edge last night in a eventuful 3-2 victory. Vegas took early control when returning playmaker, Mark Maher, released the electric Winston Fowler on goal who cooly slotted home via the post after 10 minutes. Vegas then seemed to withdraw from their passing insticts and a scrappy and defensive Vegas side struggled to assert the pressure their early goal deserved.

Hilltop FC hit the channels early with balls over the top to their speedy wingers with the gameplan to get in behind the Vegas defense clear for everyone to see. Nevertheless, the back 4 stayed resolute and Hilltop rarely got in behind or caused goalkeep Matt Summers any real trouble. On the stroke of half time a marauding run from left back Louis LLoyd Pack opened up space on the edge of the box and when the ball found Luke morgan via Patrick Moore Jones' flick he slammed the ball home at the near post to end the half on a high.

After half time Vegas looked as though they thought the game was over and a combination of poor passing and fierce pressure resulted in having to soak up an increasing amount of pressure. However, when Vegas again regrouped and managed to get forward in numbers Maher again found a killer pass to play in right back Harry Pedersen who curled in from the edge of the box to make it 3-0. Perhaps Vegas were thinking the game was won and combined with a triple substitution they seemed to become unbalanced. Soon after Hilltop scored 2 goals via a neat passing move and a poor clearance that were both punished. Vegas could have scored more on the break but didn't take opportunities and were thankful for a couple of point blank saves from Summers ensured they went home with the 3 points.
