Away league match

Another commanding display of possession football was the basis of a very good league-defining performance from the Vegas boys.

Just as in the previous game Vegas started with a quick tempo and clever attacking interplay to unlock the Foxham Park defense on numerious occassions. Wide forwards Winston Fowler, who was later voted man of the match, and Paul 'Trigz' Reid tormented the Foxham full-backs on almost every burst forward. Chance after chance went begging and a combination of hard luck and poor finishing meant the game remained 0-0 at half time.

Although they had nothing to show for their endevours their manager Patrick Moore Jones encouraged them to continue in the same vein as he knew they would eventually break the deadlock with the high level of skill they had displayed in the first 45 minutes.

That skill eventually came from substitute Shazad Latif who 5 minutes after coming on as a sub in the 60th minute swiveled and struck a flick on with his left foot into the top corner from the opposite corner of the box.

The celebrations where wild and something changed in the team because some uncharacteristic mistakes began to happen straight after the restart.Foxham, who had up until now untroubled the vegas defense, won a series of corners that did cause confusion in the box. Eventually their sloppiness was punished, with 10 minutes to go a long punt upfield was unluckily sliced into his own net by Tom Willmore from the edge of the area near the left back position. It was not what he, or the team deserved after their fantastic efforts. Nonetheless, Vegas celebrated winning the League undefeated after their initial dissappointment.
