Home league match

Magical Vegas FC (finally) recorded their first victory of the Premier League season with a dominant display over inferior opponents, Economicals FC.

Vegas started the game in testing conditions with lashing rain and strong winds. However, it didnt stop the Vegas boys from passing it with zip and purpose around a taller - but less mobile - Economicals side. Despite their superiority they lacked confidence and didn't find wingers Paul 'Trigz' Reid and Luke Morgan who were often left one-on-one with their fullback.

When they finally did, Trigz beat his fullback with a neat flick, ran insdie the covering defender and pulled the ball back for Erol Resat to tap home for a deserved lead. Things got even better moments later when returning left back Louis LLoyd Pack found Resat with his back to goal, he held the ball up and laid off a pass for Mike Appiah to drop the shoulder on the edge of the box and fire a powerful shot into the bottom corner. However, Vegas still found defending difficult and allowed opportunities for their opponents to score. However, they found stand-in goalkeeper Ozzy Barkat impossible to pass as he made 2 important saves to keep their lead intact.

Vegas began to overun their opponents when goling forward, Appiah somehow danced through three opposiition players in quick succession before sliding a perfect pass for Resat to round the keeper and tap in for hs second of the game.

When the 2nd half began Vegas wanted to push on but instead played too many sideways passes and invited pressure from Economicals. Who, in fairness, returned after a terrible first half display with a bit more bite and purpose in their 2nd half display. The invitation from Vegas back-fired as the opposition began winning 2nd balls and pushing the Vegas boys back deeper and deeper. Eventually, the pressure told when a corner was bundled over the line despite the best effeorts of Vegas players to block it.

Vegas were in danger of reversing all the hard work they had done in the first half. But when Jacob Bond, on as a 2nd half substitute, slammed home a left-foot half volly in off the post after a Kaleb King (also substitued on) knock down, Vegas' nerves settled and they pushed on for more goals. Hussein Hussein made a sycthing run into their final third and when he swapped passes with Appiah his cross-come-shot span towards the goaline where Trigz bundled the ball home as a defender attempted to clear it.

Vegas deserved their win and will look to push on in the league starting with their next opponent Admiral FC the following week.
