Away league match

Magical Vegas entered their league game with high flying Admiral FC with high hopes after cruising to victory in their last game over Economicals FC two weeks earlier. Setting up with a similar 4-3-3 system, their confidence was quickly sapped out of them after a first-half display that can only be best described as abysmal!

Dealing with crosses has been a problem all season and it was horribly exposed when the fell 0-3 down within 20 minutes from 2 headed set-pieces and and another from open play within 6 yards of the goal. A fourth followed soon after after a mis-timed back pass and stranded goalie allowed the Admiral striker to lift the ball into an empty net.

Losing the ball at regular intervals and not offering any threat in attack the evening could have been worse but after a half time team talk where the team was honest with each other they came out more determind to have an impact on the game. They did improve but still lost the ball too easily and even goals from Patrick Moore Jones, Mark Maher and Luke Morgan in the 2nd half were overshadowed by a calamatous goal conceded with still 30mins to play. The ball was rolled out to a player just outside the box who was immediatly under pressure, the ball was lost, leaving an easy tap in for the opposition. It really was schoolboy stuff. The game finished 3-6 that, considering their performace, was not unfair on the Vegas boys.

Magical Vegas FC players are going to need think deeply about the long season ahead and decide that if they want to be proud of what they've achieved at the end of the season. They have an oppotunity to show themselves and their manager they are ready to fight for results, not just expect them to happen, all it needs is a big result and that could be in the Gazette Cup against SYFC next week.
