A bright breezy morning saw newbies Life Church travel to Keresley to face in form Lowfors! The opening encounters saw Lowfors struggle to get a hold of it and Life Church had the better moments in the first 10 minutes. However, Lowfors soon calmed and the football starting to flow! The solid defensive 4 starting getting on the ball to find Gould and Lawrence who started to dictate play and found impressive outlets in Jay Gould and Calvin who constantly posed a threat going forwards! Megs looked hungry for goals and Ellis was a menace going forward as always! In the opening 35 minutes, Lowfors battered Life Church with some crisp and sharp football which they couldn’t handle! Some fine work going forward saw Ellis carve an opening cutting the ball back for Megs who swept home from close range! Not long after he was at it again as Gudgeon intercepted and guided a pass into his feet. Megs took one look up and fizzed it into the car corner once again!! At 2-0 Lowfors were crushing and then Paul Lawrence got on the ball deep in his own half pressed forward and then fed a smart through ball dissecting the back four for Jamie Gould to run on to and slot home!! Then, Lowfors seemed to lose their passing football. A few stray long balls and passes didn’t go into feet and it gave the visitors a chance to counter on two separate occasions. One was converted and another led to a corner which was swept home from close range. A comfortable Lowfors were 3-0 up but were now cut back to 3-2 which was a shame as they dominated the first half. However, the reaction second half was impressive! Lowfors pegged Life Church back into their own half for the majority and a fourth goal seemed inevitable! Ellis split the defence a few times but was unable to convert whilst Jack found himself free in the box on two occasions but couldn’t find the net either! The opposition keeper was their star man in the second half, making four or five impressive saves but good work from A to the Gudgeon down the right flank saw him burst into the box and majestically curl the ball high into the net and beyond the advancing keeper to secure the victory! Gudgeon had been a great outlet for large portions of the second half and had swept in several dangerous deliveries and got his just desserts with a fine goal to secure the win! All in all an impressive victory where Lowfors dominated the majority of the game! A convincing win that might perhaps could’ve tasted a little sweeter but nonetheless Lowfors March on and have their final friendly on Weds night!!
