Lowfors Show Their Teeth!!!

Tonight’s game was a great test for in form Lowfors. CTK turned up with pace and attacking prowess from the get go!! In truth Lowfors struggled to get hold of the ball and looked in a spot of trouble in the opening 20 minutes. The pressure soon told when the opponents took an early lead which was fully deserved considering their possession. A corner was poorly defended and two free headers meant one thing....goal! Fortunately a hungry Clarke and Barnes kept the strikers at bay with dogged defending as did Jamie Gould who was doing lots of leg work to support an injured brother in midfield! After a difficult 25 minutes Lowfors did get a foothold in the game and started to find the front two. Ellis, full of confidence with multiple goals already was direct and causing problems every time he got on the ball and it was unsurprising that a burst into the box and quick finish at the near post soon followed! The second half didn’t start well as a cross wasn’t dealt with and the striker slotted it home from close range but the second half did show a steel from Lowfors that might be required throughout the season. CTK were keeping possession well but a robust Lowfors closed down and worked tirelessly for each other to keep us in the game. Megs came on and caused problems immediately whilst Calvin and Jon supported him with some good link up play. With 15 minutes to go a rather ridiculous foul presented Megs with an opportunity 23 yards out. A sublime free kick found the car corner and gave Lowfors a well deserved draw. In truth, CTK dominated large parts of this game but the team work, desire and sheer hard work kept Lowfors in this and they got their rewards in the end!
