Loughshinny weren't at the races today but started brightly with Cian Ensor being a danger early on getting in down the left channel but failing to deliver any decent crosses in. Loughshinny took the lead when a scramble in the Rivervalley box ended at the feet of Ensor who showed great composure to put the ball into the bottom corner of the goal. Rory O'Connor had a good chance when Evan Spencers through ball got him in but the strike was poor and straight at the keeper. Loughshinny seemed to think that the game was going to be handy victory given Rivervalleys latest form but they grew complacent and Rivervalley started getting the better of the play when an attack down Loughshinny left, the big striker got in behind Ryan Fagan and Callum Lynch who failed to put in any tackle and the striker went by the 2 of them and looped a strike over Matthew Wade in goal into the far corner. Rivervalley created a few more chances towards the end of the half but it was 1-1 and HT.
2nd half was much the same poor play from loughshinny and Rivervalley getting more of the play but not really testing Wade in goal. Loughshinny then started to pin Rivervalley back but poor efforts from O'Connor and Archbold and Spencer failed to beat the Rivervalley keeper. Ruvervalley wer reduced to 10 men after a second bookable offence but Loughshinny squandered more chances and couldn't get the winner. A big improvement needed next week
