Home league match
Loughshinny welcomed the leaders Rivervalley Rangers to Loughshinny Park today both sides boasting a 100% record each. Loughshinny down a few bodies with injury as Shane Wilde replaced Matthew Wade in goals and Josh Hughes came in for Mark Fagan at left back due to a ankle injury picked up in training. Rivervalley seemed to have the better of the early play and took the lead on 20 mins with a long straight ball from the goalkeeper created a bit of havoc with Cian Archbold and Callum Lynch getting their wires crossed which allowed the ball to break through and the Rivervalley striker broke onto the ball and took it passed Wilde in goal before slotting it home. Rory O'Connor had latched onto a bad back pass his touch took him around the keeper but away from goal and he just couldn't squeeze the ball home as the angle narrowed he should have put the ball into the goal to pull Loughshinny back in the game. Cian Ensor had a few efforts just wide including a volley which went agonisingly close to flying in the top corner. Loughshinny didn't really play there best today and went in at half time 1 down. Second half started better for Loughshinny as they started to create more opportunities Ensor causing havoc down the left wing giving the Rivervalley left back a torred time. Conor O'Neill started having more influence in the game and broke from the middle to release Ensor and he made no mistake in firing past the keeper to bring the game level. Rivervalley created very little in the 2nd half and should have been reduced to 10 men as again O'Neil release O'Connor with a through ball and the striker ran in on goal and the Rivervalley Captain took him down as he was about to shoot for a penalty. O'Connor got up from the ground and dispatched the peno. Loughshinny then pressed home the third when a Evan Spencer corner bounced into the 6 yard box and Archbolds first attempt was blocked on the line but his follow up smashed into the goal to make it 3-1. Ensor made way for Cameron Solheim late on with a little niggle but left his mark in the game with a Man Of The Match performance. 3 from 3 and top of the table after the result today. A solid start to the campaign. Next up its an away game to St John Vianney next sunday
