Lifford With Comfortable Home Win

Lifford Celtic took an early lead to set the tempo of the game. A brilliant delivery from Josh Doherty fell to the feet of Ronan O'Neill who tapped it into the net for his first Lifford Celtic goal. Lifford should've killled the game in the first half,Billy Doherty with a fantastic effort that somehow managed to stay out. Liffords midfield 3 of Billy Doherty,Ronan O'Neill and Gavin Rutherford completely dominated the game and set the tempo. Things wouldn't fall the way of the front 3 in the first half but all 3 caused Capprys defence problems all first half. The second half started exactly like the first,a corner resulting in another early goal. This time Logan Todd scored from a corner swung in by Josh Doherty. 2 in 2 for the big Centre half now. Ben Harkin was giving the left back a nightmare of a time much like the previous game with Cappry where he was outstanding and Josh Doherty was twisting the right back outside in. Lifford did start to get a bit complacent and give the ball away easily so there was an introduction of 3 subs,Niall Rooney,Philip Kelly and Daithi McCarron to freshen things up,as well as doing that the 3 lads helped gain complete control of the game,3 players who are brave on the ball with the quality and work rate to match it,they injected much needed energy and control back into the team. The assists keep on coming for Josh Doherty. After the second goal Lifford were in cruise control and maybe should've killed the game but their solid defence never looked in trouble,that paired with the excellent midfield 3 and 3 subs it was complimentary to Cappry that the game only did finish 2-0 given Liffords dominance. Karl Friel didnt have a save to make,that tells the story of the game.
