Home league match

On Sunday 16 November 2025, Lads Club Juniors U12 welcomed Ludlow Town FC U12 Knights to Widemarsh Common for a 9-a-side league encounter kicking off at 09:00am. The home side delivered a commanding performance, running out 12-1 victors after a relentless display of attacking football over 60 minutes.

Lads Club Juniors lined up in a 3-4-1 formation, deploying three defenders at the back to provide solidity and width. Lucas Price started in goal, shielded by a defensive trio of Charlie Clueit at right back, Archie Rigby centrally, and Louis Howells on the left. The midfield four featured Musa Touray on the right wing, Flynn Gething and Flyn Watkins occupying central midfield roles, and Joseph Lee on the left flank. Leading the line was striker Chase Bracegirdle, tasked with finishing chances created by the midfield and wide players. The substitutes bench included Charlie Arnold, Finn Jones, Zayn Prosser, Thomi Scoular, and Oscar Jones, ready to make an impact as the match unfolded.

The match burst into life immediately as Lads Club Juniors took the lead in the first minute. Flyn Watkins capitalised on a close-range opportunity, slotting a tap-in with his right foot to set the tone for the day. Just two minutes later, Louis Howells demonstrated defensive tenacity with a crucial tackle to halt an early Ludlow Town attack.

The early exchanges saw Lads Club Juniors probing with incisive long passes, notably from striker Chase Bracegirdle in the seventh minute and right midfielder Musa Touray a minute later, both aiming to stretch the Ludlow defence. Despite these efforts, attempts from Louis Howells and Joseph Lee in the eighth minute were both thwarted by the visitors’ goalkeeper, keeping the scoreline modest.

A mistimed run by central midfielder Flynn Gething saw him flagged offside in the ninth minute, a rare moment of frustration amid Lads Club Juniors’ dominance. The home side doubled their advantage in the 14th minute when Joseph Lee delivered a precise cross to Chase Bracegirdle, who finished with a neat right-footed tap-in from close range.

Archie Rigby contributed defensively with a vital headed clearance in the 15th minute, but Ludlow Town FC responded immediately with a spectacular long-range screamer, their sole goal of the match, fired with power from distance into the top corner.

The 16th minute saw a flurry of substitutions for Lads Club Juniors as Zayn Prosser replaced Flynn Gething, Finn Jones came on for Musa Touray, and Charlie Arnold took over from Archie Rigby. Joseph Lee promptly restored the three-goal cushion with a composed finish, further asserting home dominance.

Despite further saved attempts from Joseph Lee and Chase Bracegirdle in the 17th minute, the visitors struggled to contain the relentless Lads Club Juniors attack. Finn Jones was caught offside in the 20th minute, but this did little to stem the tide.

In the 21st minute, Chase Bracegirdle scored his second goal of the match, tapping in from a cross by Finn Jones. Joseph Lee continued to test the opposition keeper with a saved effort in the 23rd minute, while goalkeeper Lucas Price cleared danger in the 24th.

Bracegirdle completed his hat-trick in the 25th minute, again assisted by Joseph Lee’s accurate crossing. Zayn Prosser’s shot was saved in the 28th minute, and Joseph Lee was flagged offside shortly after, but Lads Club Juniors maintained their grip on the game.

Flyn Watkins scored again in the 30th minute, finishing inside the box following a short pass from Joseph Lee.

Half-time arrived with the score at a commanding 7-1 in favour of the home side.

The second half saw further substitutions as Thomi Scoular replaced Joseph Lee, Oscar Jones came on for Chase Bracegirdle, Musa Touray took over in goal from Lucas Price, Archie Rigby returned to the defence for Louis Howells, and Flynn Gething replaced Flyn Watkins.

Oscar Jones quickly made his presence felt with a long key pass in the 35th minute, creating a clear chance. Thomi Scoular’s effort went high over the bar in the 36th minute, but the pressure continued.

Finn Jones scored in the 39th minute, tapping in a close-range finish from a short cross by Oscar Jones. Zayn Prosser’s attempt was saved in the 40th minute, and Lucas Price returned to to the pitch replacing Charlie Clueit.

Oscar Jones had a couple of attempts, one wide and another saved between the 41st and 43rd minutes, before Zayn Prosser made way for Flyn Watkins once more. Archie Rigby’s free kick sailed high in the 44th minute but was followed by a tap-in goal from Oscar Jones, assisted by a cross from Lucas Price.

Louis Howells made another crucial tackle in the 45th minute, preventing a chance for Ludlow Town, and Charlie Arnold was substituted off for Chase Bracegirdle.

Flynn Gething’s saved attempt in the 49th minute was soon forgotten as he scored in the 50th minute following a team move finished with a right-footed strike, assisted by Oscar Jones. Louis Howells fired high in the 51st minute, and Joseph Lee returned to the field, replacing Flynn Gething.

Oscar Jones continued his scoring spree with a right footed tap-in in the 53rd minute, assisted by a cross from Joseph Lee. Shortly after, Zayn Prosser replaced Flyn Watkins.

In the 59th minute, goalkeeper Chase Bracegirdle made a confident catch to deny Ludlow Town, before Zayn Prosser added to the tally with a right-footed finish from a cross by Musa Touray.

Oscar scored a left footed volley from a precise cross from Lucas but Lucas Price strayed offside in the 60th minute cancelling Oscars hat trick, but that did little to halt the home side’s momentum. The final goal arrived in the 62nd minute when Thomi Scoular scored inside the box from rebounded free kick delivered by Musa Touray, rounding off a dominant display.

Flyn Watkins and Flynn Gething were named players of the match, both instrumental in midfield with Watkins opening the scoring and Gething contributing both defensively and offensively. Lads Club Juniors U12’s comprehensive 12-1 victory was a showcase of teamwork, clinical finishing, and tactical discipline at Widemarsh Common.
