The KFC lads were fired up and looking to bounce back from a string of unlucky results. Fionn stepped up to captain the side this week and BB came down to make sure we didn’t loose any match balls!
The game started competitively with both teams going strong into tackles and challenging for every ball. Earlsfield struck early on with a well worked team goal and a lucky bounce to take beyond the keeper, 1-0 Earlsfield.
Kiwi didn’t have much time to settle when the big Earlsfield striker scored an absolute belter from 35 yards, much to the surprise of both teams and the Riley, 2-0 Earlsfield.
The second half was a lot closer, we managed to get into the game more and hold more possession, with both teams drawing stalemate for that half.
A big drama unfolded in the second half noted with the mighty Dom trying to instal some niggle into the game and throw them off, or get someone sent… before eventually getting sent himself for a second yellow.
The new backline recruit Liam, aka Rocky, threw up some hands with the opposing right back backing up his team mate. but luckily only the original push from Tinsley was seen by the ref for a yellow.
Man of the match was Liam Williams on his debut.
The Garden Shed Pub put on some burgers for us for an after match as we licked our wounds with a few Guinnai
