Away league match

The Kiwi lads came into the game with something to prove after a less than ideal result last week against the league leaders. Starting strongly with confidence playing the ball out from the back and breaking through thirds with relative ease. A few missed chances from both sides with the deadlock broken by a Thierry Henry-like strike from TC at a distance of 40 yards, what an absolute screamer.

The game was open with both sides creating but missing chances with Robbie Bradley’s long throw forever dangerous set-piece.

AFC Battersea hit back with a swift counter-attack catching the backline out with an overlapping run, cross and simple tap in. Kiwis dominated the remainder of the first half even with injuries to the hard-hitting Robbie Goodwin and ginger jewel Sam Sowerby leaving the field with lower leg injuries bring on the ever-reliable Goran Jonovski and injection of pace up top with Phil Riley.

Unfortunately, Kiwi’s weren’t able to drive it home conceding a late second-half goal making the final score 2-1. Stand out performances from Riley Morris in goal, Freshy at Centre back and centre mid, the Man of The Match - and pint sculling extraordinaire - Robbie Bradley.

As always…we go again and 100% we will be getting them in early!
