Kirkstyle took on high flying Coatbridge utd who had won 12 out of their 13 games so far but Thistle came in confident of getting a result after last week's victory.
It was a scrappy game with only some poor refereeing decisions costing Thistle all 3 points.
A few half chances for both sides in the first half with neither side dominating.
Kirkstyle had Debut Goalkeeper Dave McFarlane to thank for keeping it goalless in the first half when he denied Coatbridge with a brilliant point blank save from a header from 6 yards out.

Into the 2nd half and kirkstyle took the lead substitute Barry Foster coming off the bench to squeeze the ball past the Coatbridge keeper 1-0 Thistle.
There were some questionable decisions on the day but none more so than in the build up to the Coatbridge equaliser, with Thistle on the attack Chris Welsh and then Barry Foster were both chopped down with no fouls given Coatbridge broke away and with the 2 kirkstyle players down and the referee not interested, took full advantage of their numerical advantage a low ball driven in from the the left and Hamill was left helpless as he stuck out a leg to intercept but could only turn the ball past man of the match Dave McFarlane in the Thistle goal 1-1.
James Fisher saw red in last couple of minutes for a 2nd booking.
A match which Kirkstyle deserved to take 3 points for there grit and determination saw them end up with 1 after the controversy.
