Kirkstyle came into the Derby match with Beechwood confident and it showed early on as Thistle created chance after chance.
It took fifteen minutes to finally see a goal as debutant Graeme O'Keeffe who was causing havoc cutting in from the left to fire Kirkstyle into the lead.
Thistle were first to every ball but couldn't turn possession into goals, that changed just before halftime when a Barry Corner set piece found centre back Sean Budd free to prod in a second for Kirkstyle.
Thistle started the second half sluggish and conceded when a corner wasn't cleared and Beechwood pulled one back.
That seemed to snap Kirkstyle back into the game and within five minutes had the ball in the net again Corner with the assist and O'Keeffe with the finish for 3-1.
Captain Callum McKinley had to be quick across his line to deny Beechwood a 2nd when a free kick round the wall had the keeper diving full length to tip the ball round the post.
Thistles top scorer Sean Carson came off the bench with half an hour left and within a few minutes had sent O'Keeffe through to complete his hattrick and put Thistle out of sight at 4-1.
Kirkstyle would add two more with Sean Carson grabbing both in the last 15 minutes to give Kirkstyle a convincing win.
