What a great game to take us to the 1st league game of the league next weekend.
As we said throughout the game, the result and scoreline was never the focus and all we wanted was for the boys put their effort in, get their fitness up and enjoy the game.
Really pleased to see some of the things we’ve been doing in training come off. Some excellent passing and link up play throughout, with shorter grass we’d have run away with the game against a team 2 Divisions above us.
Goals from Blake, Louie and George with all these assists from Luca!
MOM - Chester, one of the new starters playing in his second game. Played on the wing, striker and in goal - showed great attitude and fight, chasing, pressing and making some good passes. Well done.
Captains Award - Kaylem, making his Kippax Athletic debut, he kicked on from his trainer of the week award on weds. Playing in defence and on the wing, I can’t believe this was his first competitive game. Got stuck in, kept going throughout and did everything we asked of him. Keep up the hard work.
Jimmy - showed again how much he’s improved in goal making some good saves and was unlucky to concede. Will be difficult for the Whites to beat him tomorrow.
Alex - played in defence and on the wings today, continues to enjoy and work on his outfield game. Made some good interceptions and passes throughout. Keep up the hard work.
Blake - played outfield, the whites keeper showed that he has more strings to his bow. Playing Striker (bagged a great goal) and made some excellent tackles and passes when in defence.
George - as always, a little road runner who never stops running. Playing defence and midfield working tirelessly and made some good runs. Scoring the equaliser, I loved seeing his beaming smile at the end.
Louie - played in defence and midfield, looked tired towards the end but pounced on an opportunity to score making it 3-2 and pulling us back into the game.
Luca - started in defence reading the game well, made a number of interceptions and tackles with excellent distribution. Also played up front and centre midfield, assisting in all goals. Well played.
Luis - played in midfield and striker, still can’t believe how much this lad has improved from being a beginner last season. Looking forward to watching him continue, worked hard throughout and made some good passes.
Teddy - played centre midfield and defence. Worked tirelessly, winning the ball back and linking up well, making a number of good passes which started some good attacks.
Good game guys, go and have some shandies and enjoy the weekend.
