A 94th minute equaliser for Ylum was a kick in the stomach for the Colts after a late strike from Ryan Campbell had looked like it was going to win the points.

On a scorching day in Kinross, a complete opposite to the previous Saturday, there were early chances for Rory Marshall (twice) and a combined Dan Kenny and Scott Sneddon inside the opening 10 minutes of the contest.

Play switched to the other end and the visitors with Mark Robertson coming to the rescue denying Wyper when through one-on-one with the Colts number 1, and moments later with an excellent fingertip save to push Dudman’s header around for a corner.

The Colts were forced into a half-time chance when influential Marshall had to be replaced by Greg Stapleton due to injury. The change of positions saw instant dividends when the ball fell to Kenny who laid a sidewards pass to Mitchell Baldwin, who pushed into midfield to fill Marshall’s absence. Baldwin took his time to assess his options from 25 yards out before unleashing a calm, but decisive shot into the top left hand corner with the keeper well-beaten. It was an excellent strike!

There were shouts for a second Colts goal when Caulfield’s header from the left-hand side of the area looped over the keeper and appeared to have crossed the line before being headed away, but the referee wasn’t interested.

With time running out, there was still time for plenty of action when the visitors looked to have snatched a point (which they eventually did!) in the 85th minute when Murphy managed to turn and fire home from 8 yards out for 1-1.

But Ryan Campbell quickly restored the Colts lead with a brilliant low drive into the bottom left-hand corner from 20 yards out. Another very well-taken strike and will have done the Colts’ man the world of good.

As stoppage time commenced, Kenny went close with a spectacular overhead kick which just cleared the bar. But there was heartbreak in the 4th minute of stoppage time when a free kick into the Colts box wasn’t cleared and fell to Dudman who followed up to poke home the equaliser.
