The Colts 'A' came out of the blocks like lightning to claim their first win of the campaign in style and put in a performance and scoreline that had been long overdue.

There were doubts about the game with a heavy fog surrounding much of Fife, but thankfully it eased enough to allow the game go ahead as the Colts raced into an early 3-0 lead, which was seldom threatened and will do much to boost confidence across the park with a number of hard-working displays.

Daniel Kenny, who epitomised the side's hard work, had the game's first chance in the second minute witha great effort that was pushed behind for a corner by the Muchty keeper. From the resultant corner, it was Kenny's header back across the face of goal that landed at the feet of Jamie Tierney to crash home a powerful drive into the top corner.

I had barely had time to update the Social Media channels as Kenny was again in the action moments later cutting inside and firing a rasping effort in off the post and in to make it 2-0 in just the 4th minute. It was a goal that the Colt's number 9 has deserved in recent weeks and was a great reward for him.

In the 10th minute, Man of the Match Derek Page went close with a free kick with the keeper at full stretch and thankful that the left back's effort just cleared the post.

But it was soon to be 3-0 on 15 minutes when Kenny again had a hand, this time his run and shot from the right was blocked and fell back to Callum Grindlay just outside the area and it flew low into the far corner.

The Colts were trying hard to increase their advantage before half time with Kenny having a couple of chances and Kieran Wilson bringing a save with a powerful shot from distance.

Meanwhile, the visitors did have a few chances of their own, but found keeper Mark Robertson is commanding form with a number of very good saves to maintain his first clean sheet of the season.

The second half didn't quite live up to the first half, but the Colts did enough to not be troubled other than a spectacular tip over by Robertson on 77 minutes. At the other end, chances from Wilson, Kenny, Forrester, Grindlay and Gonsales were unable to add to the tally.

It was a thoroughly deserved and morale-boosting win for the club. A number of notable performances all over the park with no-one letting the team down, but Derek Page won the Committee's vote for Man of the Match with a dominating performance.

Well done, lads!
