Kill Celtic achieved their first clean sheet of the season as they beat a tough Knockmitten side 3-0.

A blustery and showery afternoon lay ahead of Kill as they looked to maintain their unbeaten start to the season. A sluggish pitch matched the tempo of the game with neither team getting going for the first 15 minutes. The Knockmitten no6, (who was their best player on the day) was their main driving force but Kill's CDM, Niall Devaney was breaking up the play well. Kill eventually clicked into gear and their opener came with some good work down the left hand side as patient play between Ian Richardson and Niall O Connor lead to Alex Lynch getting the ball on the edge of the Knockmitten before jinking out of tackles and firing into the bottom corner. The goal spurred kill on with Maguire and Carroll exchanging some neat 1-2s and feeding the ball into the feet of the tireless Conroy. Kill's second came from some good work by Liam O Connor and Tadhg Montgomery. It was the latter who sprayed a pass out Stephen Carroll. Carroll beat his defender and whipped a dangerous cross into the box which the onrushing Montgomery met with his head perfectly. 2 nil up and kill were good value for their lead at HT.

The second half saw Knockmitten dominating the possession without threatening the kill goal thanks to the vocals of Kilkelly and the hard work of Brady-Mullen and Richardson. The turning point in the game came when a Knockmitten player mowed down the hard working Lynch and received a red card. The numerical advantage didn't spur kill on so changes were rung. Cusack and Kelly and were brought on in a 10 minute period and injected fresh legs as well as desire into Celtic. The right hand side played a big part in kills third. Some quick feet from Conroy saw the ball being laid off to Maguire who beat his man before squaring the ball to Lynch. Lynch used his signature move of beating every man twice before burying into the bottom corner to continue his excellent scoring run. Fagan then came on for Maguire to see the game out and Kill managed to resolutely.
