Hyde Park 2 Kill 2.
Kill Celtics run of 3 games without a win continued but it could have been worse on an afternoon where they were down to the barebones.
Without a goalkeeper, Niall Devaney stepped up and without him Kill could have left Balbriggin with no points. The early exchanges saw both teams with chances. Hyde park opened the scoring after the ball was played over Niall O Connor's head and the onrushing striker finished well. This goal seemed to spur Kill on as they began to dominate possession with Leon Carroll a constant menace. For all Kills good pressure, Hyde always looked threatening on the counter. They had doubled their lead just before the break after a cross wasn't cleared. Kill went into the break feeling hard done by with the majority of the possession but were made to pay for missed chances. The second half began much in the same manner with Hyde happy to absorb the Kill pressure and counter. The kill front 3 of Conroy, Carroll and Kinsella were getting into meaningful positions. Kill eventually got their goal around the 70 min mark after Kinsella was fouled in the Hyde box. Conroy put away the resulting penalty with ease. As kill bombed forward Hyde did get some chances. Niall Devaney made a great save after the Hyde midfield played a 1-2 and sliced through the kill back 4. Kill got their equaliser 2 minutes from the end as Montgomery received a tidy ball off Fagan and lashed a shot into the bottom corner.

A draw was no less than kill deserved and they go into the break sitting in 3rd place in the league. With 10+ matches left they will need a strong 2017 to ensure that back to back promotions arrive at Straffan Road.
