Away league match
Kill finally got their first back to back points as they overcame a quality Dunard side out in Cabra on a wet Saturday morning. A sleek but heavy surface awaited the red n black as they looked to overcome a Dunard team who are fighting at the top of the table. Their class shown through in the early stages as they dominated possession. The back four of kill + keeper Coady were resolute in keeping Dunard out. Kill broke the deadlock against the run of play after a Mc Aleese free kick was deflected and eventually found its way to the head of Devlin who continued his heading streak.
The game became stretched after this but after a few half chances came and went, the HT whistle blew. Kill sat back in the second half but weathered the waves of Dunard attacking threat well. It was from a counter where Kill doubled their lead. Some initial great hold up play by Conroy saw Mc Aleese receive the ball and unleash a fierce strike. 2 nil up but dunard were relentless in their attack. The resolute defence of kill was eventually broken down after a fine free kick was pinged into the top corner. Kill saw out the game until the final whistle.
A cracking win against top opposition.
MOTM: Liam O’ Connor was great in CM but Jordan Lynch just shares it.
