Kill 3 Blessington 1.
Kill ended their first season in the LSL with a win. Opting for a 3-5-2 Kill started brightly with fluent passing from keeper Gilligan and the back 3. Kill opened the scoring when Karl Maguire was hacked down in the box. Stand in skipper, Stephen Power made no mistake from the spot as he fired to the left. The back 3 of Richardson, Brady-Mullen and O connor were in fine form sniffing out any Blessington attack. Blesso started the second half brighter and were rewarded with an equaliser. A long ball was failed to clear and eventually stabbed home. Kill were back ahead again as Power got his brace. A fine free kick was fired around the wall and passed the outstretched keeper. Blesso continued to attack to their credit but Liam O connor , Joe cusack and Niall Devaney were immense in the middle. Ste Carroll kept their right wing quiet and Maguire was a constant threat down the right. Kill eventually sealed the points through a flowing move. Starting with Power on the halfway line, he beat two men before laying the ball off to Maguire. Karl raced by two players before playing an inch perfect ball into the Path of Kinsella, who made no mistake with the finish.
On the whole Kill deserved the points.
MOTM: honourable mentions to the tireless Ste Carroll and Niall Devaney but Power was unstoppable today.
That ends an great first Season in the LSL for kill. Promotion always a great achievement especially for such a young team.
