A Game Of Two Halves

We started the game with a 4-3-3 formation which has worked so well in the last few weeks.

We struggled to get to grips with Solihull who were fast and strong in most areas.

We lost all shape we had shown so well over recent games and in all fairness played the worst I've seen us in months first half. 5-0 down at half time and could have been more.

I think all girls came off disappointed and annoyed. The half time team talk was get back to basics. Move the ball, keep our shape and support each other with and without the ball. We changed to 4-4-2 moving Lotte into midfield and putting Gracie and Jess M together up front.

Second half was a polar opposite to the first. We totally changed in every area and looked really good for the whole of the second half. The ball was kept really well across the middle of the park. Some lovely football linking up with the forwards and creating some really good chances that another day would have seen us score a couple of goals that we certainly deserved.

The back four looked far stronger and dealt with any pressure really well and the forwards looked dangerous when given chances.

I said to the girls after the formation was a huge part of the way we performed first half so I hold my hands up and apologise for that. The second half however we looked really good and the way the girls responded was excellent so hopefully we can take this into the game Saturday.
