Lions played for the third time in 6 days as the build up to the new season continued.
Keen to gain as much experience as possible we agreed to play a game against a very experienced under 15s side who have a year playing 11 a side under their belts.
Lions started with the same formation of 4-3-3 we played so well with against Welland and it was much of the same from the girls.
The passing was excellent and the great width Scarlett and Madge offered meant we stretched the Cookley side from kick off. The front three of Lotte, Gracie and Lily May looking strong and quick and very dangerous.
The game was a fast pace game which lions controlled for the majority. Little getting past the back line and Demi coping well in goal with any long balls played through.
Once again we pressed well and created several chances before Gracie broke the deadlock.
A good throw from Anais, Gracie smartly beating two players before finishing well from a tight angle.
We could have easily added to the score with good efforts from Lotte, Scarlett and Paige coming close.
With around 5 left after more constant pressure lions won a corner. The corner was whipped in from girl of the match Lotte only to be headed into their own net from a Cookley defender.
Final score 2-0.
A really excellent result and performance against a bigger and more experienced team and another display everyone should be proud of
