Neutral league match

In a commanding display, House Of Prayer FA triumphed over KASAM FA with a resounding 5-0 victory in a league neutral match held at the Ilorin venue on 5 May 2025. The match kicked off at 10:00 am, and it quickly became evident that KASAM FA would face a challenging encounter against their opponents.

KASAM FA lined up in a 4-3-3 formation, which featured Kolade Ridwan in goal, supported by a back four consisting of Abilawon Roqeeb on the right, Shittu Wahab and Makinde Segun in central defence, and Ameh Praise on the left. The midfield trio comprised Iorshase Solomon on the right, Oladejo Fathiu in the centre, and Hassan Afeez on the left, while the forward line included Muhammed Suleimon on the right, Ekot McDonald as the central striker, and Kolawole Opeyemi on the left. This setup was designed to provide width and attacking options, with the midfielders expected to control the game and supply the forwards.

The substitutes for KASAM FA included Eni Boluwatife, Adekunle Jamiu, Uthman Abubakar, and Alloh Jubril, who would be called upon as the match progressed.

The match began with an early setback for KASAM FA as Iorshase Solomon was forced off due to injury just a minute in, with Eni Boluwatife coming on to replace him. This early change disrupted KASAM FA's rhythm, and they soon found themselves under pressure from House Of Prayer FA.

In the 14th minute, a critical mistake from Oladejo Fathiu proved costly, as his misjudgement allowed House Of Prayer FA to capitalise, leading to the opening goal just a minute later. The opponents doubled their lead in the 33rd minute, showcasing their attacking prowess and leaving KASAM FA struggling to respond.

The situation worsened for KASAM FA when House Of Prayer FA scored their third goal in the 36th minute, further asserting their dominance. Just before half-time, a foul by Makinde Segun resulted in a penalty for House Of Prayer FA, which they converted in the 44th minute, leaving KASAM FA trailing 4-0 at the break.

After the interval, KASAM FA made tactical changes, bringing on Adekunle Jamiu for Makinde Segun and Uthman Abubakar for Muhammed Suleimon, hoping to shift the momentum in their favour. However, despite a spirited effort, they struggled to create clear-cut chances.

In the 50th minute, Kolawole Opeyemi came agonisingly close to scoring, hitting the post with a well-placed shot. Hassan Afeez also had an opportunity in the 63rd minute but failed to find the target, shooting wide as KASAM FA sought a consolation goal.

As the match drew to a close, KASAM FA's woes continued when Kolade Ridwan was penalised for a trip in the 90th minute, conceding another penalty. House Of Prayer FA capitalised on this opportunity, scoring their fifth goal from the spot, sealing a comprehensive victory.

The final whistle confirmed a disappointing day for KASAM FA, who were outclassed by a clinical House Of Prayer FA side, leaving them with much to ponder as they look ahead to their next fixture.
