It was a day to forget for the a few reasons and the end result being one of them.
A 4-2 home defeat to a team we've already beaten twice this season but today we just never turned up. All the goals coming in the first half and for the 3rd game in a row we lost a goal in the opening 7 mins.
A combination of players not being available and injuries throughout the game proved to be a big factor in the result but taking nothing away from Crosshouse and making no excuses as they punished our mistakes and woeful defending.
One nil down early on after the crosshouse forward coasted past a defence unwilling to tackle him and finished well into the top corner.
Davie Gillies equalised with a back post header from a Thomson free kick. A goal that seems to be a trend in recent games.
Quickly tho we were two one down and again to poor defending but it wasnt long until we equalised again and this time with Finn Taylor banging home a low drive from the edge of the area that had the keeper rooted to the spot.
The last of the action in the first half was 2 goals for the away team in quick succession , an unusual sight to see with John Thomson not clearing his lines for one after a mix up between himself and new keeper Delaney. Then being undone by a dodgy bounce for another.
The game was halted on the half time whistle for an injury to Greg Forbes which resulted in the game being delayed for 1hr 20mins whilst we waited on an ambulance to take Greg off the pitch. End result was badly torn ligaments and we wish him a speedy recovery in time for next season.
With the score 4-2 at half time the second half had 2 flash points, the first being a mcmurtrie header that rattled the bar and looked to have got medda back in the game.
Second flash point was with the same player after a high boot from a crosshouse player was not penalised by the official for dangerous play and this resulted in a bit of handbags which seen Mcmurtrie dismissed for foul language.
Good luck to Crosshouse who push on for promotion,
3 of our final 6 games are at home in a row starting on Wednesday and we need to pick ourselves up after a less than impressive showing.
