vs Tonbridge Origin
Away league match
After a slow start to the season, Tonbridge Origin secured their first win of the season with a convincing 10-1 home win over Insulators Reserves.
Origin started the game missing regular goalkeeper Jamie Holder, with Richard Williamson stepping up to take on the gloves.
Origin took an early lead via a header from Cameron Dunbar. Origin doubled their advantage when Ben Holder was brought down in the box. He dusted himself off and stepped up to convert the penalty himself. Two further goals from Holder enabled him to complete a first half hat-trick. One of these goals was set up by a good header from Craig Waller, with Holder getting a slight touch as the ball crossed the line.
Half time 4-0.
With a healthy first half lead, the plan for Origin was to retain momentum and keep a clean sheet. Origin were able to freshen things up, making five substitutions early in the second half. Insulators struggled with the Origin fresh legs, and further goals soon came. A second half hat-trick from Duncan Ibbotson, a further goal from Ben Holder, a header from Tom Marshall and one from Dean Larter, took the score to double figures.
The clean sheet was not to be, as a poor clearance from Ian Page allowed Insulators to score a late consolation, Glen Gostlow being on target.
Final Score 10-1.
