vs Ticehurst

Away league match

Insulators Reserves and Ticehurst Village Club were originally due to meet in Paddock Wood to play a Junior Cup match. But with Paddock Wood assuming its customary winter sogginess, the two clubs agreed to play at Ticehurst and make it their Division Three league match. (Please can someone invoke a suitable deity to stop it raining on Paddock Wood, just for a few days!)

The pitch was fine, the game was competitive but played in a good spirit. Insulators edged the early exchanges. Martin Ives opened the scoring and put Insulators ahead with a great shot from twenty yards into the top right corner. The match was end to end for the remainder of the half, with Insulators Reserves creating the better chances but it stayed 1-0.

The second half also started well for Insulators with Ben Obbard scoring direct from a corner in 49th minute. Ticehurst came into the game more as it went on and pulled one back with a header by Jason Marsh on the hour. From that point it was Ticehurst having most of the play and Insulators trying to counter attack.

Craig Smith in the Insulators goal pulled off a number of superb saves to keep his team in front and eventually earn his team the points in a 2-1 win.
