Away league match
Despite several players not making it out of bed for the trip to Hawkenbury Insulators started strongly against top of the table Royal Oak but couldn’t make their early dominance count and Royal Oak started to get into the game and create chances of their own
Mid way through the first half the deadlock was broken with a long cross field ball and smart low finish beating Craig Smith for his first goal conceded in over 200 minutes of football, 1 – 0 to the Oak
The game continued to one of few clear cut chances and remained at 1 -0 till half time
Insulators again started strongly in the second half and some good interplay between Lewis Disbury and Harry Mascall resulted in Disbury lobbing the keeper from outside the box to bring the game back to all square
This seemed to kick Royal Oak into life and they found themselves back in front on 60 minutes and with Insulators pushing for an equaliser, they exposed the gaps in the defence to go 3 – 1 up on 77 minutes
Bailey Wright was then fouled in the box to win a penalty for Insulators which Harry Mascall coolly slotted home to set up a frantic finale
Royal Oak won a penalty from a corner which was adjudged to have been cleared off the line by a hand and it was finished confidently on 89 minutes
There was still time to make it 5 -2 deep into injury time as Insulators 2 – 0 – 9 formation certainly left space for a long ball which was snapped up and calmly finished
