Away friendly match
Playing at home on foreign soil felt strange but with the excellent lock picking skille of Greg Dodson, Insulators were soon getting ready for the first friendly of the new season
WIth several new faces to incorporate and 17 players in attendance the manager tried picking a starting 12 but this was spotted and the team started with the requisite 11
A scrappy first 25 minutes saw several half chance for both sides but Insulators edged it and should have gone 1 up if Bailey W had gone for goal rather than trying to suqare the ball to Sam F
After several substitutions the final 20 minutes of the first half were dominant for Insulators but the goal didnt come
It was a similar story in the second half as Tommy S, Zak W and Nick W dominating play and the breakthrough came from Bailey W who made an excellent solo run from the right, cutting inside to drive the ball pass the oncoming keeper
As the substitution tally reached about 40 the game was starting to get more and more open and it looked like it was going to be a deserved win for Insulators until a last minute free kick by Borough was lofted into the box and thebouncing ball fell to their striker whose shot was deflected pass the excellent Josh Henricci to deny him a deserved clean sheet
Loads of positives and the new players look like they could provide some good times ahead for the team who are looking for promotion from division 3 this year
