The Insanity Are Staying Up

It all came down to today. The final match day of the season was upon us and all was to play for. Insanity sat 6th in the tables out of 8, with 7th and 8th only a point beind. Relegation was a real possibility. Our opponent for the day was top of the league Saints FC. The first half was tough fought game, with periods of good play from both sides. Saints FC were the more dominant side, but we came in at the half at a respectable 3-1. Charlie West got his name down on the scorecard, cleaning up a spill from their keeper. Second half however was a different story and we took an almighty pasting. Their quality combined with us only having six players, quickly turned the game into one touch football that ran us ragged. Credit to Joe who went in goal today, despite losing 11-1 he put in a pretty impressive performance. I think he saved more goals this game than we’d conceded all season.

By some miracle the other two games involving the teams below us went our way, and we survive to play another season in the highest standard of football down at NK! Onto next season where we look to push up the table!
